It was standing room only at Plymouth Library Tuesday, March 26 as enthusiastic mystery readers turned out for our Twin Cities Sisters in Crime Panel Discussion, “Ripped from the Headlines.” I joined Timya Owen, Brian Lutterman, Jessie Chandler, Tom Combs and Midge Bubany in talking about the ways that real life events inspire our fiction. A friend’s real life adventure in the lava fields on the Big Island in Hawaii gave me the idea for a scene in Homicide in Hawaii. I shared this and many other ways I find ideas. Thanks to all the readers who came.
